“Bringing A Team Closer”

At Training Touch we always aim to establish and create a cohesive team that feels like a family, so that people have a sense of loyalty and commitment to their colleagues and the company. Another goal is to always keep the motivation of the team at a very high level because simply put, it is important to provide opportunities for group members to become acquainted.

One method we use is eating together. We make a point of eating a meal with the team as often as possible and it’s amazing how this one little thing can impact a team. We believe it’s necessary to indicate the importance and value of the individuals and team and the people need to know how they are important to the company. Acknowledging achievements and identifying progress, to the person, the team, and throughout the company is crucial to team spirit and positive growth.

Inevitably in a team, disputes sometimes occur ranging from minor differences in opinion, to fundamental differences in ideology. As team leaders, you have to handle such disagreements constructively, ensuring that the team remains focused on achieving its goals. In situations like these, it’s always good to encourage people to stand back from any disagreements and look at things objectively. By doing this, any differences between the team can be more easily resolved and possible conflicts can be avoided.

“Success Through Motivation”

The following steps can be taken to help achieve and maintain group motivation:

Provide opportunities for group members to become acquainted.

Indicate the importance/value of the group.

Make people feel they are important.

Clarify goals.

Identify progress.

Acknowledge achievements.

  • The most important point for a team leader to remember is that each individual needs to think that they are working with the best people - to feel proud to be part of the team. By getting people into this state of mind a leader will instill a high level of group morale; people will work harder and achieve more.
